Description:

Readily available therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of antipsychotic blood levels can provide evidence-based and personalized psychopharmacologic treatment. For medications such as clozapine, patients and healthcare providers have many situations where TDM is highly relevant in making day-to-day clinical decisions, including differentiating poor adherence with ultrarapid metabolism, and optimizing levels in inadequate responders. During this session, the faculty will discuss the unique place of clozapine for treatment resistant schizophrenia, and the role of TDM in clozapine dosing during titration, and for monitoring ongoing adherence.
