Description:

Blood level monitoring is crucial in optimizing antipsychotic treatment in clinical practice for oral and LAI medications. Second-generation long-acting injectables (LAIs) are prescribed with increasing frequency as newer, longer-acting formulations become available. Dr. Schoretsanitis will discuss strategies for using blood levels with LAIs to transition from orals and for long-term efficacy. Specifically assessing blood levels can essentially assist clinicians to ensure optimal dosing and minimize potential side effects. Finally, he will consider the importance of blood level monitoring for shared patient decision-making in the patient’s journey.
